Trombosis Sinus Kavernosus Akibat Komplikasi Furunkulosis Hidung

Trombosis sinus kavernosus merupakan kasus yang jarang, tetapi dapat mengancam kehidupan. Penyebab trombosis dapat berasal dari infeksi daerah sinonasal, midface atau orbita. Gejala klinis meliputi gejala yang melibatkan mata dan beberapa nervus kranial. Penatalaksanaan pada trombosis sinus kavernosus terdiri dari pemberian antibiotik, pembedahan terhadap sumber infeksi, kortikosteroid dan pemberian antikoagulan yang masih kontroversial. Dilaporkan satu kasus trombosis sinus kavernosus akibat komplikasi furunkulosis hidung pada pasien laki-laki 13 tahun dengan penurunan penglihatan pada kedua mata. Pasien diberi terapi antibiotik empirik dan kortikosteroid, memperlihatkan perbaikan. Simpulan studi ini ialah trombosis sinus kavernosus merupakan kondisi yang fatal. Terapi yang segera dan tepat dapat memberikan prognosis yang lebih baik. Penatalaksanaan medikamentosa merupakan pengobatan dasar trombosis sinus kavernosus.Downloads
