Respon Imun Terhadap Infeksi Toxoplasma Gondii

Abstract

Toxoplasma gondii merupakan parasit golongan protozoa intraseluler yang menyebabkan penyakit zoonosis yaitu toksoplasmosis. Gejala toksoplasmosis dapat berlangsung tanpa gejala hingga menimbulkan gangguan neurologis berat bahkan kematian pada individu immunocompromised. Infeksi Toxoplasma gondii  (T.gondii) dapat terjadi secara kongenital maupun didapat. Respon imun host terhadap infeksi T. gondii dimulai saat parasit masuk ke dalam tubuh dan melakukan invasi intraseluler. Respon imun alamiah ini akan menghasilkan IFN-γ dan menginduksi mediator inflamasi yang dapat menghambat multiplikasi T.gondii serta menstimulus terbentuknya respon imun adaptif.
